A sign in Cape Town. South Africa apparently has quite
liberal and enlightened pro-choice
legal policies, if I'm reading Wikipedia correctly, so yay South
Africa, but this sign is a
little disturbing.
Partially it's the lack of any sort of medical qualifications that
makes it so unnerving--it
would be nice to know that a doctor and a hospital are involved,
say--and partially it's
the fact that the procedure is apparently carried out using
WhatsApp, a feature that
my Samsung Galaxy phone, for one, doesn't have.
But I think it's mostly the words "30 Mints" that has me
flustered. Is that the fee?
Do you lie down on a pillow that has 30 mints on it? Are 30
mints somehow
used to induce termination? Do you receive a coupon worth 30
mints toward your
next surgical procedure?
