"Reed at the Crossroads"

I produced this puzzle for Reed Magazine, the alumni magazine of Reed College.

I wrote it before I knew that crossword puzzles are never supposed to contain two-letter words, but I'm too lazy to go back to fix it.

Although it has a Reed theme, there is only one answer that requires specific knowledge of the school -- non-Reedies should click here to get that answer.
